Description
Jack Wiebers Whisky World is a German independent with a long catalogue of single casks. This 23 year old Littlemill, from cask 1035 came off the stills in 1990 and was bottled in 2014, part of the Great Ocean Liners series. With the distillery demolished and no new spirit possible, every bottle is drawn from a pool that only shrinks.
Twenty-three years in the bourbon cask polish the delicate Lowland spirit.
At its natural 51.7%, the American oak frames the fruit with vanilla. Grassy, honeyed and softly floral to the close. Furfural from the toasted oak lends a faint almond note, lignin the vanilla, the low tannins a soft frame.
