Description
Ian Macleod Distillers, the family firm behind Glengoyne and Tamdhu, bottles single casks under its Chieftain's and Dun Bheagan labels. Filled in 1992 and bottled in 2014, the whisky is a 22 year old Littlemill, from cask 103805 + 103806, in the Chieftain's range. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.
Twenty-two years in ex-Bourbon lend a light oak frame to the silky, floral spirit.
Bottled undiluted at 50.7%, vanilla and pale oak from the ex-Bourbon. Light and fragrant, the elegant Lowland signature throughout. A refill barrel works slowly: vanillin for vanilla, lactones for coconut, and oxidation building soft orchard fruit.
