Description
Berry Bros & Rudd has traded from No. 3 St James's Street in London since 1698, Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant. Distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2012, this is a 20 year old Littlemill, from cask 9, part of the Berrys' series. Littlemill can never be made again, so each cask emptied is one fewer forever.
Time in ex-Bourbon, twenty years of it, frames its buttery, honeyed Lowland style.
At 54.6%, undiluted, the American oak adds vanilla over the orchard fruit. On the palate, a glasshouse note, a hay-like note. Hemicellulose in the toasted oak caramelises to a light butterscotch, lignin breakdown lending vanilla.
