Description
Moon-Import was founded in 1980 by Pepi Mongiardino and ranks among Italy's most revered independents, famous for themed series like The Birds. Distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2004, this is a 14 year old Littlemill. Every release draws down a finite store that can never be replenished.
Fourteen years in the bourbon cask polish its delicate, honeyed spirit.
At 46%, the American oak lends vanilla and a buttery note. The Lowland softness shows, floral and lightly fruity. Wood sugars from the caramelised hemicellulose give a light toffee, while lignin yields the vanillin behind the vanilla.
