Description
Gordon & MacPhail, founded in Elgin in 1895, pioneered the bottling of single malts as single malts. This 50 year old Linkwood, from cask 98011203, came off the stills in 1971 and was bottled in 2021.
It spent 50 years in ex-Bourbon, long enough to round its clean, apple-and-pear character.
At 42.4%, undiluted, vanilla and light oak come from the bourbon cask. Delicate and fragrant, with a fresh, grassy lift.
