Spain’s best selling liqueur, from Cartagena, Licor 43 blends forty three botanicals around bright citrus and soft vanilla at 31%; in a mix it adds vanilla sweetness and aromatic citrus lift, and it is the heart of the Barraquito.

Description
Licor 43, or Cuarenta y Tres, is made in Cartagena from a family recipe named for its forty three ingredients, a blend of fruits, citrus and botanicals whose makers trace its spirit to a honeyed citrus drink of Roman Hispania. Golden and vanilla sweet, it is bottled at 31% and is the best selling liqueur in Spain.
Bright citrus and coriander meet a generous vanilla roundness, which makes it a useful sweetener and aromatic in a glass. It is the soul of the Barraquito, the layered Canarian coffee, lifts a Carajillo, and increasingly turns up in creamy, vanilla led modern serves and espresso martini riffs. Pour it neat over ice, or float it over milk and coffee for the drink it was seemingly made for.
