Description
Licor 43, the best selling liqueur in Spain, is made in Cartagena from a guarded family recipe of forty three ingredients, a blend of exotic fruits and aromatic herbs finished with vanilla. This limited Creme Brulee edition leans the golden liqueur toward the dessert it is named for, building toasted sugar and vanilla over the citrus base and bottling it at 16%.
The nose carries oranges and other citrus fruits, the palate toasted sugar, vanilla, oranges and citrus, finishing long, creamy and slightly salty. Behind the bar that toasted sugar and vanilla sweetness is the tool, adding a creme brulee dessert note and aromatic citrus to a creamy cocktail or an after dinner serve without dairy of its own. It is a useful sweetener and flavour note in a dessert led martini or an espresso martini riff, and floats neatly into coffee. Pour it over ice, or use it to round out and flavour a creamy after dinner serve. Best enjoyed chilled or on ice.
