Licellino Limoncello

Licellino Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur in the traditional macerated style, where lemon peel is steeped to draw out its essential oils and fresh citrus aromatics before sweetening. Bottled at 28%, it sits in the bright, zesty end of the fruit category, leading with the lemon itself rather than any added complexity, and reading as a straightforward, sunlit Italian limoncello on the back bar.

The nose is fruity with ripe lemons, the palate sweetish and fruity with fine acidity, ripe lemons and a hint of bitterness across a long finish. Behind the bar that mix of sweetness and citrus acidity is the point, lending fresh lemon flavour and a sugar lift that balances a sour or lengthens a long drink. It works neat and well chilled as a digestif, over ice, or stirred into a Limoncello Spritz with prosecco or a Limoncello Tonic. Keep a bottle in the freezer so it pours ice cold straight to the glass.
