Description
L'Heritier-Guyot Creme de Cassis is a classic French blackcurrant liqueur from Dijon in Burgundy, made by L'Heritier-Guyot from carefully selected blackcurrants and processed to a traditional recipe. As a creme de cassis it is a high sugar liqueur built on cassis fruit rather than dairy, and the house is one of the better known producers of the Dijon speciality. Bottled at 15%, it is smooth, aromatic and squarely in the regional tradition that gave the drink its name.
The nose is ripe blackcurrant with intense fruit and a fine sweetness, the palate fruity and smooth with cassis, a subtle acidity and balanced sweetness, finishing round and aromatic with intense, long lasting fruit. Behind the bar it brings deep cassis flavour, sweetness, body and a vivid colour, which makes it the berry heart of a Kir with white wine or a Kir Royal with Champagne. It also lifts a cassis sour or a sparkling long drink. Pour a measure into still or sparkling wine, or use it wherever a drink wants blackcurrant depth and colour.
