A twenty-one year TDL single cask under the Tamosi label, concentrated and oily with massive mint and eucalyptus, dark berries and peach over dry, slightly dirty oak, a serious dry sipper at 60%.
Description
Tamosi is the rum line of independent bottler Levy Lane, and this is a 2003 vintage TDL aged twenty-one years as a single cask. TDL is the column-still producer behind Angostura in Trinidad, working from island molasses, and its older single casks can develop a dense, herbal intensity well beyond the light house style. This bottling sits among the heavier, more characterful living-Trinidad releases.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak, it shows a thick, oily mouthfeel. The aroma carries mint, caramel, herbs and vanilla, the palate brings massive mint and eucalyptus alongside woody caramel and an oily weight, and the finish stays minty and earthy over dry oak. Dark berries and peach surface beneath the herbal rush, with a faintly dirty, technical edge that nods toward Caroni without the tar. The nose can read closed at first and rewards patience, a concentrated and serious dry pour that carries its 60% with real density.
