Legaris makes this Tempranillo rosado in D.O. Ribera del Duero, aged on its lees for added texture. Strawberry-pink and fresh, it shows red berries, ripe stone fruit and floral lift.
Description
Legaris sits in Curiel de Duero in Ribera del Duero, a modern winery owned by the Codorniu Raventos group. This rosado is pure Tempranillo, the grape that drives Ribera's powerful reds, here pressed early for a fresh pink style. Ribera del Duero is a high plateau in Castilla y Leon with a harsh continental climate: hot days, cold nights and a wide diurnal range that ripens the fruit while locking in acidity and bright aromatics. Cool fermentation protects the primary fruit, and the wine then rests on its fine lees, which adds weight and a rounder, creamier texture without oak. The result is a medium-intensity strawberry-pink wine. The nose is fresh and fruit-forward, with red berries, cherry and ripe white peach over floral notes and a citrus edge. The palate is dry but generous, medium in body, with the lees-built texture balanced by clean acidity and a fresh finish. Serve chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees. It is an easy summer wine that also has the substance for grilled meats and richer salads.
