Las Cabras Offrian Loire Finish

Las Cabras is a Panama ron built in the soft, vanilla-led local style, here taken in a different direction with a finishing spell in Loire wine casks. Panama spirit tends to be mellow and approachable to begin with, and the wine wood adds a continental, faintly vinous accent on top of that mellow base rather than reshaping it.

Distilled on a column still from molasses and bottled at 40%, it is light and rounded, with vanilla and a fond of white wine running through it. The Loire finish lends a little extra roundness, though on an already round rum the effect stays subtle and the wine note can read as the most distinctive part. A gentle, undemanding Panama sipper for those curious about a wine-cask twist on a soft Spanish-style ron.
