Description
Kingsbury is a long-running independent now based in Japan, bottling Scotch single casks for the Asian market and beyond. This 16 year old Laphroaig, from cask 4144, came off the stills in 1999 and was bottled in 2016., part of the Celtic Series.
Sixteen years in Rum layer the cask onto Laphroaig's antiseptic, oily smoke.
At 55%, undiluted, the rum cask brings a molasses sweetness. The profile runs to a yeasty note, smoke, citrus, chocolate, a medicinal edge, a faintly sweaty note.
