Description

Ian Macleod Distillers, the family firm behind Glengoyne and Tamdhu, bottles single casks under its Chieftain's and Dun Bheagan labels. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2011, this 14 year old Laphroaig, from cask 4099/4102 followed. in the Chieftain's Choice range.

Fourteen years in ex-Bourbon let the oak work its oily, tarry smoke.

Bottled at 43.3%, with vanilla and light oak from the ex-Bourbon. Peat, iodine and a maritime salinity hold the palate.
