Description
Ian Macleod Distillers, the family firm behind Glengoyne and Tamdhu, bottles single casks under its Chieftain's and Dun Bheagan labels. This 13 year old Laphroaig, from cask 900159, 900160, was distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2019, part of the Chieftain's series.
Thirteen years in Oloroso layer the cask onto Laphroaig's coastal, medicinal character.
Bottled at cask strength, 48%, the Oloroso adds raisin, fig and a walnut dryness. Phenols, brine and a long smoky finish.
