van Wees is a Dutch independent behind the long-running Ultimate range. This 13 year old Laphroaig, from cask 700394, came off the stills in 1998 and was bottled in 2012. in The Ultimate - Cask Strength range.
Time in ex-Bourbon, thirteen years of it, frames the medicinal Islay spirit.
Bottled undiluted at 60.1%, with vanilla from years in the bourbon barrel. On the palate, dried fruit, a medicinal edge, a nutty note, a sherried character, smoke.
