Description
L'Anglore is Eric Pfifferling's reference estate for serious rosado in the Southern Rhone, working organically near Tavel. The fruit comes from old Grenache, Cinsault and Aramon on the warm, stony terraces above the village, where rolled quartzite galets and sandy soils store daytime heat and reflect it back into the canopy, ripening the grapes fully while retaining freshness through cool nights. Because the blend and the picking sit outside the Tavel rules, the wine is bottled as Vin de France. Vinification follows a natural, low-intervention approach with native yeasts and ageing in stainless steel, which keeps the focus on fruit and texture rather than oak. It pours a deep coppery pink. The nose carries wild strawberry, cherry and red currant with a savoury, garrigue-herb lift and a saline note. The palate is dry and broad for a rosado, with red fruit, citrus peel and gentle phenolic grip from the longer skin contact typical of the Tavel style, closing dry and savoury. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a white wine glass.
