Description
This 1988 Lagavulin was bottled by Moon-Import for its In the Pink series, a 12 year old single cask from ex-Bourbon cask 2029, an outturn of 352 bottles, one of several sibling casks. The distillery has occupied Lagavulin Bay since 1816, near the ruins of Dunyvaig Castle.
Onion-shaped stills and a slow run give Lagavulin its weight. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask, twelve years carry a bright smoke.
Bottled at 46%. Guaiacol leads the phenols behind the smoke, vanilla coming up from the oak. An In the Pink single cask Lagavulin from an Italian importer.
