Description
Ladyburn was a Lowland malt distillery within William Grant's Girvan grain complex, open only from 1966 until its closure in 1975. This Vintage Single Cask is a 1973, cask 3233, bottled in 2000 at twenty-seven years old for the Netherlands.
Ladyburn amounted to a set of four stills in the Girvan plant, its malt going to Grant's blends and freeing up Glenfiddich stock. The light spirit spent twenty-seven years in a quiet ex-Bourbon cask, gaining wax, vanilla and a little oak.
Bottled at the cask's own 50.4%. The ex-Bourbon cask gives vanilla and coconut, with maltol toffee, over an oily, waxy depth. A scarce single cask from a distillery demolished after nine years.
