Description

Labourdonnais XO Single Cask 2010 is a cane-juice rum from the Labourdonnais estate in Mauritius, an island making agricole-style rum outside the French AOC. It is distilled from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice on a column still and aged six years in ex-bourbon, drawn from a single 2010 cask.

Bottled at 42.2%, this single-cask bottling lets one barrel show its hand. Expect the grassy, vegetal cane character of the style softened by time in oak, with a light touch of vanilla and spice, dry rather than sweet. A measured Mauritian rum for easy neat sipping.
