Labourdonnais XO (Edition Februar 2023)

Labourdonnais XO is a cane-juice rum from the Labourdonnais estate in Mauritius, an island making agricole-style rum outside the French AOC. This February 2023 edition is distilled from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice on a column still and aged six years in ex-bourbon casks.

Bottled at 42%, it sits in the estate's older tier, with the grassy, vegetal character of cane juice softened by time in oak and a light dusting of vanilla and spice. A drier, gentler Mauritian rum in the agricole mould, suited to easy sipping or stirred drinks.
