Description

Labourdonnais is a Mauritian estate working from fresh-pressed sugar cane juice on a column still. This Fusion release is a flavoured rum infused with lemongrass, sitting at a gentle 37.5%, so it belongs in the aromatic, easy-drinking camp rather than alongside dry cane-juice blancs.

Expect a green, citrus-herbal lemongrass character over a soft rum base. As a flavoured bottling it leans sweeter and more fragrant than a neat agricole, and it earns its keep in cocktails, a mojito or a long serve, where the lemongrass note can carry. Treat it as a mixing rum, not a contemplative pour.
