Description
La Serpiente Emplumada Silver is a Tequila Blanco of 100% agave grown in Jalisco, its name meaning the feathered serpent in reference to the Aztec deity Quetzalcoatl. As a blanco it is bottled unaged, the clearest read of the agave, the cooking and the still.
The agave is cooked in a traditional stone oven alongside autoclaves, the slower stone bake helping retain agave flavour, then twice distilled in copper pot stills to keep the spirit clean and authentic. The producer states no additives are used. Aromas run to agave, roasted pepper, cumin, spiced melon, mango preserve, citrus peel and flowers, while the palate is spicy, fruity and earthy with white pepper and cinnamon, balanced and dry. Bottled at a firm 44%.
