La Luna Mezcal Espadincillo is an artisanal mezcal from Michoacán made with Agave angustifolia (Espadincillo), a local variant related to Espadín but grown and distilled outside Oaxaca. Bottled at 48.5 % ABV, it delivers bright cooked agave, citrus oil, gentle smoke and fresh herbal spice, clean and energetic with real structure.

Description
La Luna Mezcal Espadincillo showcases Michoacán’s take on one of Mexico’s most important agave families. While Espadín dominates Oaxacan mezcal, Espadincillo is the local Angustifolia expression traditionally cultivated around Etúcuaro and surrounding highland areas. Produced at Destiladora Las Azucenas using traditional methods, the agave is pit-roasted underground, tahona-crushed and fermented naturally with fibres before double distillation in copper and pinewood stills.
The result is a mezcal that sits firmly in the clean, agave-forward camp rather than heavy smoke. Aromas lean toward citrus peel, green herbs and fresh agave, while the palate brings cooked agave sweetness, white pepper, light mineral notes and restrained smoke. Bottled at 48.5 %, it has enough weight to sip neat while remaining versatile enough for serious mezcal cocktails. This is Espadín’s Michoacán cousin done properly, not a copy of Oaxaca.
