Description
La Hora Azul Blue Hour is a young brand of the Canadian Don Good Tequila Company, drawing on agave from more than three hundred farming families across the volcanic highlands of Jalisco. It is a Tequila Blanco, bottled unaged so the agave and the highland character lead, and put together by the house blender working under the Alquimia name from several Los Altos sources.
Made from Blue Weber agave in the Los Altos style, the bottling sits at 40% and shows the rounder, sweeter cast typical of the highlands: cooked and baked agave, bright citrus, and a soft floral edge over a clean finish. The producer suggests it cold or at room temperature, with or without ice, alongside good olives, fruit or roasted almonds. As an unaged spirit there is no oak influence, leaving the agave, the still and the highland soil to set the tone.
