Description
La Favorite is one of Martinique's last family run distilleries, and this Rivière Bel'Air from the 2020 harvest is a white agricole bottled under the island's AOC, which forbids any added sugar. Unsweetened at 53%, it is a serious, aromatic blanc that lands a step punchier than the standard 50%, well suited to dedicated ti' punch sessions.
Distilled on a creole column run low to keep the green cane congeners, then rested rather than aged, it stays bright and snappy. The nose is all fresh sugar cane, grass, floral notes and fruit, the palate keeps the cane front and centre with tropical fruit, florals and grass, and the finish runs sugar cane, lime and an earthy, floral edge. Familiar to anyone who likes Neisson blanc but a shade more intense, it is at its best stretched over ice with lime and cane syrup.
