Description
La Favorite is one of the last independent family distilleries in Martinique, and this Plaisance Canne Rouge 2023 is a single-cane-variety blanc made from red sugarcane, distilled from fresh-pressed juice on a creole column and bottled unsweetened in the AOC tradition.
Focusing on one cane variety lets the terroir speak, and the result is a bright, expressive white: a fruity, floral nose, then an anise-led palate with floral and vegetal cane character, closing dry on anise and fresh agricole notes, with some drinkers picking up a peppery, almost menthol edge. At 51% it has the proof to carry that snap while staying crisp and clean. A fresh, characterful blanc that puts cane variety front and centre and makes a vivid Ti Punch.
