Description
La Favorite La Digue Recolte 2020 is a single-harvest white from La Favorite, one of the last family distilleries within the city of Fort-de-France, made from fresh sugar-cane juice under the Martinique AOC. As a blanc it goes to glass after a short rest rather than into long ageing, with no added sugar, so what you taste is the cane and the year, captured at a single recolte.
The creole column runs low to keep the grassy, vegetal congeners in the spirit, giving a fresh, floral nose of sugarcane, lime and citrus, a peppery, vegetal and well-balanced palate, and a finish of floral citrus and cane with a spicy lift. At 52% it carries real aromatic punch while staying composed, exactly the proof Martinique blancs are built for. This is a snap-fresh agricole made for a proper Ti Punch, or a cool neat sip to read the harvest straight.
