Description
La Favorite Exploration No. 6 Batch 2 comes from La Favorite, the family distillery near Fort-de-France that remains one of Martinique's traditional agricole producers. The Exploration line gathers limited releases, this one a 2022 distillate carried just over two years in oak.
Distilled from fresh-pressed sugar-cane juice on a creole column and aged in ex-bourbon casks, it is bottled unsweetened at 45%. Young aged agricole like this typically keeps a lively grassy, herbaceous core with early vanilla and light oak spice beginning to settle in, dry rather than sweet. Tropical ageing means even a short spell in cask leaves a clear mark.
