Description
La Cofradia Edition Catrina is a Reposado Tequila built from 100% Blue Weber agave, part of a Day of the Dead themed range named for the Catrina figure of Mexican folk art. As a reposado it sits in the rested class under NOM-006, where light oak settles over a still present agave core rather than burying it.
After twice distilling, the spirit spends roughly six months in French red wine barrels, an uncommon choice that softens the tequila and tints it toward rose while it works. The cask brings vanilla, honey and a touch of cinnamon to the nose, while the palate runs soft, round and creamy with oak, caramel and cooked agave still showing through. Bottled at 38%, it leans gentle and approachable rather than structured.
