Description
Komos is a styled luxury tequila produced at Tequila Orendain in Jalisco under NOM 1110, one of the oldest distilleries in the category. This is its extra anejo cristalino, made from both highland and lowland Blue Weber agave cooked in traditional stone ovens, fermented with native yeast and twice distilled in pot stills to build the base spirit, with sustainability a stated priority at the house.
The distillate then ages at least three years in French oak white wine barrels and American whiskey casks before being charcoal filtered to strip the colour back to clear, so this is an aged spirit decolourised rather than a blanco. A final rest softens the palate and lends a light sweetness. Expect creamy cooked agave, toasted oak and sweet tobacco on the nose, then cooked agave, vanilla, citrus peel, roasted oak, pecan and caramel across a rich, long finish.
