Knut Hansen Dry Gin

Knut Hansen Dry Gin comes from a family-run manufactory in Hamburg, named for a seafaring adventurer whose face is moulded into each stoneware bottle. Fourteen locally grown botanicals are distilled by hand, and the signature trio of basil, cucumber and the regional Altländer apple gives the gin its particular character, a freshness that feels more orchard and herb garden than spice cabinet.

The nose is mild and inviting, floral and fruity with cucumber, basil and a soft juniper note. The palate turns peppery and a touch spicy, brightened by that gentle apple sweetness, before a long, smooth finish. It makes a beautifully clean gin and tonic with a slice of cucumber and a basil leaf, or a Gin Basil Smash that plays straight to its strengths.
