Cocoa and ripe pineapple arrive first, then habanero and chilli bring real fire, with lime and agave cooling the burn. A Mexico-inspired Calavera edition from a northern German distillery, dressed in David Stiller’s flower-strewn catrina. Fruity, fierce and oddly harmonious, with a long, smouldering finish.

Description
The Knut Hansen Calavera Edition 2025 channels Mexico's Dia de los Muertos through northern German craft. Bottled at 44% by the Hamburg Distilling Company, it draws on pineapple, cocoa, habanero, chilli, guava and agave, the spoils of travels through blue agave fields near Tequila and distilleries like La Fortaleza. David Stiller's ornate bottle carries a flower-crowned catrina, the icon that treats death as part of life.
The nose is intense with cocoa, fruity pineapple and guava and a spicy chilli edge. The palate is powerful and warm, habanero and chilli heat balanced by pineapple and lime with elegant cocoa and agave underneath, before a long, fiery, fruity finish. Build it into a gin and tonic garnished with fresh pineapple and lime, or reach for chocolate bitters in a signature serve.
