Description
This Peated Sherry Cask Finish is a lightly peated anCnoc from Knockdhu distillery in the Banffshire countryside, finished in Oloroso sherry. Part of the distillery's peated output, it pairs gentle smoke with sherried fruit. Knockdhu, named anCnoc to keep it distinct from Knockando, is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
Reopened by Inver House in 1989, the distillery makes a light Highland spirit with occasional peated runs. Finished in Oloroso casks, the sherry wood adds dried fruit to the lightly smoky malt.
Bottled at 40%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, while peat phenols add gentle smoke. A lightly peated, sherried anCnoc.
