Description
This 1989 vintage is a 13 year old anCnoc, a Highland Selection Limited Edition bottled in 2002, an early vintage distilled in the year Knockdhu reopened. Near Knock in Banffshire, Knockdhu sells its malt as anCnoc since Knockando was too close a name.
Reopened by Inver House in 1989, the distillery makes a light, fresh Highland spirit, and this vintage comes from that first year. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the bourbon wood lends vanilla and light toffee to the malt.
Bottled at 46%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, maltol as toffee. An early-vintage Highland Selection anCnoc from the year production resumed.
