Description
This 16 Years Old was released in 2019 to mark the 125th anniversary of Knockdhu distillery, founded at Knock, in Banffshire in 1894. Bottled at cask strength, an outturn of 3,000 bottles. The whisky carries the anCnoc name, Gaelic for the hill, adopted to avoid confusion with Knockando.
Inver House fired the stills again in 1989. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks over sixteen years, the oak draw vanilla and gentle oak spice forward over the fruit.
Bottled at full strength, 56.3%. Bourbon oak brings vanilla and light coconut. Noted flavours include fresh fruit, new wood, vanilla, a cooked vegetable note and a malt extract edge. A cask strength anniversary anCnoc.
