Description
This 12 Years Old, marked Sweet and Smooth, is a core anCnoc from Knockdhu distillery at Knock in Banffshire. Named anCnoc, Gaelic for the hill, to keep it distinct from Knockando, it comes from one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, founded in 1894.
Quiet for years, the distillery reopened in 1989. Matured in ex-Bourbon over twelve years, the oak rounds the fresh malt and builds vanilla and light toffee.
Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over the soft, fresh character. The gentle, fruity core anCnoc.
