Description
This 10 Years Old Smoky is a peated anCnoc from Knockdhu distillery at Knock, in Banffshire, a smoky counterpart to the core ten. Knockdhu, founded in 1894 and named anCnoc to set it apart from Knockando, makes a normally light Highland spirit with peated runs as the exception.
Production resumed under Inver House in 1989, with peated spirit made only occasionally. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks, the oak's vanilla sits under a gentle peat smoke.
Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla as peat phenols lend the smoke. Expect a coal-gas edge, honey, a husky note, smoke, a toasted note and vanilla. A peated core anCnoc.
