Description
A.D. Rattray bottled this 15 year old 2009 Knockdhu from an ex-Bourbon cask finished in Moscatel, number 4, an outturn of 322 bottles. The distillery's own malt is sold as anCnoc, so independent bottlers use the Knockdhu name instead; it sits at Knock, in Banffshire. It is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries, founded in 1894.
Inver House restarted production in 1989. Matured in ex-Bourbon and finished in a Moscatel cask, the sweet wine wood adds a grapey note.
52.4%, at the cask's own strength. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Moscatel a sweet, raisined, grapey character over the fresh malt. A Moscatel-finished independent single cask.
