Adelphi bottled this 12 year old 1989 Knockdhu from Oloroso cask 286, an outturn of 572 bottles. Distilled the year Knockdhu reopened, it is an early sherried single cask. Knockdhu, near Huntly in Banffshire, sells its own malt as anCnoc; independents use the distillery name.
Inver House restarted production in 1989. Matured in a single Oloroso cask, the sherry wood pulls the malt towards dried fruit.
56.6%, at the cask's own strength. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with a walnut dryness over the fresh malt. An early sherried independent single cask.
