Description
Berry Bros & Rudd, the London wine and spirits merchant founded in 1698, bottled this 11 year old 2012 Knockdhu from ex-Bourbon cask 7126, an outturn of 326 bottles. Knockdhu near Knock in Banffshire markets its own whisky as anCnoc, so independents fall back on the distillery name.
The stills came back into use in 1989. Matured in a single ex-Bourbon cask over eleven years, the oak round the spirit with vanilla and a soft toffee note.
At cask strength, 58.4%. From the ex-Bourbon come vanilla and coconut, the full power lifting the bright fruit. An independent single cask from a historic merchant.
