Cadenhead's, Scotland's oldest independent bottler, released this 10 year old Knockdhu for its Original Collection, a 2013 vintage matured in ex-Bourbon and Fino. The distillery in Banffshire sells its malt as anCnoc; bottlers like this use the Knockdhu name. Opened in 1894, it ranks among the country's smallest distilleries.
Matured in ex-Bourbon and Fino casks, the dry sherry adds a nutty edge.
Bottled at 46%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanilla, the Fino a dry, nutty, saline note over the fresh malt. A Fino-influenced independent bottling.
