Best Dram bottled this 10 year old 2011 Knockdhu from a Marsala cask, number 59, an outturn of 307 bottles for Germany. Knockdhu, in the Banffshire countryside, uses anCnoc for its own releases; independents keep the distillery name.
Knockdhu runs a single pair of stills. Matured in a Marsala cask, the fortified wine wood adds a caramelised sweetness.
Bottled at full strength, 54.1%. The Marsala gives caramelised brown sugar and dried fruit over the fresh malt. A Marsala-matured independent single cask.
