Description
This Slow Matured 18 Years Old was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2014 for the Netherlands, matured in Oloroso sherry. The name reflects Knockando's matured not aged philosophy. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend.
Now owned by Diageo, the distillery makes a light, fine Speyside spirit that takes sherry well. Matured in Oloroso casks across eighteen years, the sherry wood deepened the malt.
Bottled at 43%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with a walnut dryness, the recorded note a sherried character over the soft Speyside malt. A sherried older vintage.
