Description
This Slow Matured 18 Years Old was distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2008, matured in Oloroso sherry, the name reflecting Knockando's matured not aged philosophy. Knockando, the 1898 Speyside distillery at the heart of the J&B blend, dates each bottling by vintage.
Now owned by Diageo, the distillery makes a light, fine Speyside spirit that takes sherry well. Matured in Oloroso casks across eighteen years, the sherry wood deepened the malt.
Bottled at 43%. The Oloroso gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with a walnut dryness over the soft Speyside malt. A sherried older vintage.
