Description
The Master Reserve 21 Years Old is Knockando's older vintage line, this distilled in 1990 and bottled in 2011. Knockando, the 1898 Speyside distillery at the heart of the J&B blend, dates each bottling by vintage.
Under Diageo today, the distillery makes a light, fine Speyside malt. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across twenty-one years, the wood deepened the malt.
Bottled at 43%. Vanillin from the ex-Bourbon reads as vanilla, oak lactones as coconut, maltol as toffee. The recorded notes run to chocolate, honey, a leafy lift, a malt extract note, a mossy edge and new wood. An older Master Reserve vintage.
