Description
This Extra Old Reserve was distilled in 1965 and bottled in 1990 at twenty-five years old, presented in the distillery's square decanter. Knockando, the Speyside distillery founded in 1898, is the heart of the J&B blend and bottles by vintage, naming the distillation year on the label.
Now owned by Diageo, Knockando makes a light, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across twenty-five years, the wood deepened the malt over a quarter century.
Bottled at 43%. The ex-Bourbon gives vanillin for vanilla and oak lactones for coconut, with maltol for toffee over a waxy, aged depth. A rare old vintage in the square decanter.
