Description
This Extra Old Reserve was distilled in 1968 and bottled in 1992 at twenty-four years old, in the square decanter, a year younger than its 1993 sibling from the same vintage. Founded in 1898, the Speyside distillery Knockando is the heart of the J&B blend and bottles by vintage.
Knockando, now a Diageo distillery, makes a light and fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across twenty-four years, the wood deepened the malt over more than two decades.
Bottled at 43%. From the ex-Bourbon come vanilla and coconut, its vanillin and oak lactones, with maltol for toffee. The recorded note is honey over the aged, waxy depth. A rare 1968 vintage in the square decanter.
