Description
This Knockando was distilled in 1982 and bottled by Justerini & Brooks in 1996, the house behind the J&B blend that Knockando anchors. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, dates its bottlings by distillation year.
Today owned by Diageo, the distillery makes a soft, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in ex-Bourbon casks across fourteen years, the wood frames the malt cleanly.
Bottled at 40%. The ex-Bourbon cask gives vanilla and coconut from vanillin and oak lactones, with a toffee edge. The recorded notes run to citrus, honey, a malt extract note and vanilla. A J&B-bottled vintage from the home of the blend.
