Description
This 25 Years Old was a Diageo Special Releases bottling for 2011, a rare older Knockando matured in European oak. An outturn of 4,758 bottles. Knockando, founded in 1898 in Speyside, is the heart of the J&B blend and is seldom seen at this age.
Diageo-owned now, Knockando produces a light, fine Speyside spirit. Matured in European oak, the sherry-seasoned wood deepened the malt over twenty-five years.
Bottled at 43%. The European oak gives dried fruit, melanoidins reading as fig and raisin, with tannins adding a walnut dryness. The recorded notes run to chocolate, dried fruit, old wood and a sherried character. A rare older Special Releases Knockando.
